RECORD GCSE & A LEVEL RESULTS AT ST JAMES SENIOR BOYS 2011

Pupils at St James Senior Boys School, Ashford, Surrey, have followed last week's exceptional A-level results with more record results at GCSE.

61% of papers secured A* or A grades, up 15% on last year. 98% of papers secured A*-C grades, up 6% on last year.

Commenting on the results, the Headmaster, Mr David Boddy said:

"These are our best ever GCSE results and both staff and pupils are to be thoroughly congratulated. They are testimony to exceptionally hard work all round. The wonderful new facilities on our Ashford site have also contributed to the achievement of these record results."

"Our whole educational approach, with our non-selective pupil intake, aims to bring the best out in each pupil so that he achieves more than he thinks is possible. We are therefore just as proud of our boys who achieved B and C grades as we are of our academic stars.

A LEVEL RESULTS 2011:

St James pupils have secured record results at GCE A-Level. 50% secured either A* or A grades, (up 14% on last year);  78% secured A* to B grades, (up 18% on last year).

Commenting on the results, which recorded a 100% pass rate, Headmaster, Mr David Boddy, said: "These results bring to an outstanding conclusion a remarkable year for us all.  Our move to expanded new premises, along with a significant investment in laboratories and sixth form study facilities, has proven highly beneficial.  The dedication of the teachers  and pupils to produce results like these from a non-selective school is outstanding. At such a time, when everyone is wondering about the future of the youth of our country, we need teachers who are dedicated to the spiritual and emotional development of their pupils, not just their academic results.  We are very fortunate to have so many teachers with such dedication. My congratulations go to all the pupils for their hard work and brilliant results".
