AN EXTRACT FROM A LETTER RECEIVED FROM THE DEPUTY CHIEF OFFICER OF THE SPELTHORNE COMMUNITY LINK CENTRE

Last December, Age Concern Spelthorne was contacted by (St James Senior Boys School), who very kindly offered, on behalf of the pupils and their families, to put together some Christmas Hampers for older people living in Ashford. We arranged to come to the school to collect the Hampers for distribution the day after the school closed for the Christmas holiday. On arrival, we found over twenty beautifully presented Hampers with exciting contents, each with a note from students and a number of staff who very kindly helped us to load them into the car.

I would like to say a huge thank you, on behalf of Age Concern Spelthorne and our clients who were in receipt of the Hampers. It was so generous of everyone concerned in contributing to the gifts, the care taken to make them look so beautiful and those who wrote notes. One client burst into tears hampers2of delight when she saw the Hamper and all were overwhelmed to be given such lovely gifts.

Please convey our thanks to (the organiser), all your pupils, parents and staff for making this a very special Christmas for some of our frail and socially isolated clients through their thoughtfulness and generosity.

With kind regards, Deputy Chief Officer.
