The most recent in the ongoing series of Higher education Seminars offered at St James focused on the world of Law, in terms of the requirements and abilities needed to study and practice in what is a highly competitive, demanding and rewarding profession.

We were very happy to welcome four guest speakers who generously gave their time to share their experience and knowledge with almost thirty of our Sixth Form and their parents. Three of the speakers were from the Law firm, "Lamb Building - The Chambers of Mr Ami Feder"; Mr. Bernard Richmond Queen's Counsel, Silk at Lamb Building, Bencher at Middle Temple and in charge of Education and Advocacy training at Middle Temple; Ms Katherine Kelleher, Barrister at Lamb Building;  Mr. Jamil Dhanji - pupil at Lamb Building (Politics graduate from Cambridge). The fourth speaker was an independent Solicitor, Mr Cormac Cawley.

The evening was highly informative and frequently amusing (Law can be a funny business). One of the first challenges facing would-be Law students is to gain practical experience of life in a Law firm; Lamb Building made the offer of a two week work placement with them to any Sixth Form students who applied in writing.
