SIXTH FORM VISIT E.U. PARLIAMENT
The St James Sixth Form paid a highly enjoyable and informative visit to Brussels last week, taking in the "Atomium" and the European Parliament (as well as making room for a traditional family run brewery and some very pleasant dining
and conversation).
The iconic Atomium was constructed as the main pavilion for the World Fair of Brussels (1958) or "Expo '58" and is very popular today as an exhibition centre offering striking views of the city.
Our group was invited to the European Parliament by South East Region M.E.P. Marta Andreason (UKIP) who generously took the time in her busy schedule to meet with the St James gentleman and engage in a spirited question and answer session. The party visited the public gallery to witness a special committee which was in session to discuss the Euro crisis.
The gentlemen of St James were impeccable in their conduct throughout, drawing praise from the guide at the Cantillon family brewery and appreciation from the staff who accompanied them. Thanks and appreciation goes to Mr Daw, Miss Clark and Miss Andrews, without whose
effort and commitment the trip would not have been possible.
