ST JAMES LEAVERS’ SERVICE
On Tuesday 10th July the school and parents gathered in St Hilda's Church, Ashford for a bittersweet service to mark the life transition of those leaving the school.Mostly we were there for the young gentlemen of the St James Sixth Form who were leaving us; however, there were a few from other years leaving due to family relocation, for instance, and a small number of staff who were moving on.
Most of the service was concerned with the Sixth Formers, some of whom had been with St James since they were infants at our Junior
School. A number of them spoke about the happy memories they had of their time in school and of the lessons they would take forward with them into the rest of their lives.
The occasion was dignified and uplifted; there was sadness in seeing them go but pride and happiness in seeing the young men they had become and the exciting possibilities they are moving on to.Everyone in the St James family wishes our leavers peace, happiness and purposeful, joyful futures.
