Spring 2008
Lacrosse Midseason Update:
The 1st team did well at the National Tournament battling their way up to the semi-finals. The overall result of second place in our section puts us in a pole position for the approaching Small Schools Final. The U11, U12 and U13 teams will all travel away to the County Tournament for their end of season challenge.

Autumn 2006
In November 2006, one of the highlights was the St James participation in the annual 5-a-side indoor tournament hosted by St Paul’s Girl’s School. We looked forward to this as the ‘shoot fest’ of the year.  It effectively compresses the field game and as with anything concentrated, it packs a real punch.  Fewer players and less space means faster action and our girls didn’t disappoint.  Past competitions have set the standard of play very high.
We knew we were up against a well organized squad (Lady Eleanor Holles) as they spread out their zone defence and despite our charismatic attack in this early game, it was a bracing 0-5 result.

This high speed wallop woke us up and the next two matches against North London Collegiate and St Helen’s were drawn even. The team hit their stride in the final match against Heathfield putting away no less than 6 goals in 7 minutes.

The highlight of the tournament was the game against the host team. This squad’s reputation precedes them and anyone watching the game saw that it was the unflinching (dogged?) commitment of our squad that made it so exciting.
