- Admissions procedure
This is a description for parents of our admissions procedure for your help and information.
1. Please fully complete the registration form and post the completed registration form together with the registration fee of £100 payable to St James Independent Schools. In order to meet the requirement of our admissions procedure; please also enclose a copy of your daughter's most recent school reports. If your
daughter has been assessed by an Educational Psychologist or has
had any specialist assessment during the past 5 years, or has
a known disability or allergy, you are required to submit the report
to the school and complete the Confidential
Pupil Information Form.
2. On receipt of the above documents, you will be telephoned in order to arrange for your daughter to sit entrance examinations in English, mathematics and reasoning.
3. St James is a member of the North London Independent Girls' Schools' Consortium. 11+ examinations entrance exams will be the Consortium exams for mathematics and English and our own reasoning test. The Consortium exam has to be taken only once for an 11+ candidate to be considered for entry to any Group 2 school. For entry in September 2009 the English and mathematics examinations will take place on Friday 16th January 2009 and the reasoning test and activities morning will be on Thursday 15th January 2009. The closing date for 11+ registration is Friday 28th November 2008.
4. If your daughter has attained the minimum requirement in the entrance examinations, there will be an opportunity for you and your daughter to meet the Headmistress.
5. Notification as to whether or not we are able to offer your daughter a place at St James will be sent to you as soon as possible following the completion of the above procedure.
6. If your daughter is offered a place you will be sent an acceptance form and medical forms, which must be completed and returned with her birth certificate and a recent photograph before the place can be confirmed.
