Welcome to St James Junior Schools

The St James Junior Schools aim to provide the young child with a nourishing and simple education that is based on principles which are valid for all times and not subject to ever-changing fashions. We attempt to create an atmosphere of steadiness, freshness and limitlessness in which the child is met as a whole and perfect human being and in which there is care for the spirit, mind and body.

The Junior Schools offer a balance of love and discipline. Children are put into the company of a teacher who aims to provide them with a good example and the finest material available. The same teacher normally stays with the class from the age of five until they leave the Junior School, to ensure that the care is continuous.
The boys and girls are taught separately. This is not to create an artificial separation but to acknowledge the fine, unique qualities of both the girl and the boy. The children prosper in the friendship of their own classmates and the company of men and women teachers who can inspire them to find their own particular gifts.

The schools offer a systematic education with regular testing and examinations.
