The Nursery, Prep School and Senior Girls’ School are located together in West London, close to Kensington Olympia and Hammersmith.
Surrey
The Senior Boys’ School is located on a 30-acre leafy site in Ashford, Surrey, which is a 30-minute train ride from London.
Visits to the schools are warmly welcomed throughout the academic year where possible.
Nursery – Year 1: Meet with the Head and Teaching team online
Year 2 – Year 6: sit a CAT4 test in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning, or a written test in English and Maths and undertake an interview online
Year 7: sit the 11+ test and undertake an interview online
Year 8 – 11: sit an online test in Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and undertake an interview online
Year 12 – 13: share predicted GCSE grades or equivalent, and undertake an interview online
Our schools are Sponsors for UK Visa and Immigration and are licensed to support Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for a Child Student Visa.
International pupils pay the same school fees as British pupils. However, the amount of the acceptance deposit is equivalent to a whole term’s fee for international families.
We work closely with relocation agents and accredited guardianship services for pupils choosing St James after relocating.
We can provide a list of various accommodation options such as homestays for international families looking to send their children to St James. However, we do not offer boarding.
St James is a member of AEGIS (the Association of Educational Guardians for International Pupils).

AEGIS is a national organisation that monitors and regulates the welfare of international pupils and accredits Educational Guardianship Organisations. By being an AEGIS member, our schools demonstrate their commitment to the safe guardianship and hosting of international students.
In keeping with the ethos of St James Schools, pupils practise regular “Pauses” or times of quiet throughout the day to promote their appreciation and understanding of mindfulness.
