Dear Parents
We are delighted to be able to send home a copy of this years’ Purna Magazine that celebrates the 50th birthday of our amazing school. The founders had a vision to create a unique education where children would be able to discover who they are through a rich curriculum that includes the study of Sanskrit, Shakespeare, Philosophy, art and creative skills such as sewing and cooking. I am sure that they would be very proud of what the school has become.
Today we are giving a special shout out to the wonderful Mrs. Clark who goes over and above every day to make sure that everyone is happy. The parents gave her a special bunch of flowers today and their card says it all! Thank You, Mrs. Clark for all you do for us.
This morning in assembly Felix and James both wowed us with their brilliant piano playing and we were introduced to the new Eco and Student council reps. The Eco Team will be helping us to save the planet, and the Student Council will be helping to improve the school. We look forward to hearing more about their work in the future.
We have started to harvest the produce from the class garden plots and the children have been amazed to see that over the summer beans, carrots, tomatoes, and an enormous pumpkin have grown. Thank you to Ms. Parker-Wood for helping to make our vegetable, growing project so successful.
Please note that on the 4 October we will be having our school individual and sibling photographs. Please make sure your child is in the correct uniform and has neat hair and polished shoes.
Parent art classes this term on Tuesday will start at 8am. We will begin this term by following the children’s lead and celebrating the coming of autumn with observational drawing and painting from life. It will be a lovely to start our day with some serene moments reflecting on the beauty of nature through art. It would be lovely to see more nursery parents at our parent classes. It is a great time to meet with others and to relax.
We are looking for parents to volunteer to listen to reading on Monday mornings between 8.30am to 8.45am. Do please contact Mrs. Clark if you would like to help.
If you are having any parenting issues then do feel free to make an appointment to talk to me. I may be able to help or at least to direct you to someone who can. Bringing up children is a difficult task and you need to know that you are not alone; we are here to support you.
The children have been given the task of doing three kind deeds this weekend. Please encourage your child to let their class teacher know if you notice them being particularly caring and we will celebrate it.
I hope you have a happy and restful weekend.
Best wishes
Mrs. Wyatt
At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
