Dear Parents
What a joy it was to return from my inspection activities today to be greeted by an array of children adorned in colourful outfits from all around the globe. Our cultural diversity is one of the things that makes St James so special and contributes to the richness of our wonderfully inclusive family. We would like to attract more families from abroad who are relocating to England so do please let us know if you have any contacts with embassies or relocation agents who would like to work with us.

Exciting Expansion of Our Nursery Provision
We are delighted to announce the expansion of our Nursery provision to better support our local families’ needs. Starting this September, our nursery will be open 48 weeks a year, with extended hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm. With this exciting new chapter comes a new name, as the Nursery becomes “Little Shells Nursery at St James”.
This development builds on our long-standing commitment to providing an inspirational and balanced introduction to school life, where creativity, academic foundations, and holistic wellbeing go hand-in-hand. With access to Forest School, a fully-equipped Teaching Kitchen, and specialist sessions with our performing arts teachers, children will continue to enjoy a playful and enriching early learning experience.
As Little Shells Nursery at St James, we will continue to offer the same caring team, varied curriculum, and joyful atmosphere, now with the added benefit of a more accessible and flexible structure to meet the needs of modern family life.
We warmly welcome you to visit and experience for yourself the special environment our Nursery provides.
To learn more or arrange a tour, please contact our Admissions Registrar Mrs Clark at admissions@stjamesprep.co.uk or call 020 7348 1793.
In the longer term we are hoping to take babies from twelve months old, but we need to wait for approval from OFSTED to be able to do so. It can take some time for the process to be completed but we will keep you informed.
These are exciting times for the school, and we do hope that you will help to spread the word about ‘Little Shells Nursery’ and St James. The office will be open over the holidays to take any enquiries from prospective families.
I hope that you have a happy and restful weekend.
Best wishes
Mrs Wyatt
