As the end of the school year approaches, the Year 11 students have been tirelessly putting in the effort, gearing up for their study leave. Their dedication and positive attitude have been truly commendable throughout this crucial period of preparation. Last Thursday marked a poignant moment as the students gathered for the annual tradition of ‘shirt signing’. During period 6, it was a mix of nostalgia and anticipation, and they came together to exchange messages on each other’s shirts, bidding farewell to their teachers.
Festivities followed on Friday with a fantastic breakfast and paintballing trip to Delta Force in Cobham. The catering staff created lovely breakfast of pancakes, pastries, and smoothies before we headed out to Cobham on a rather wet morning.
The paintballing was great fun and allowed the pupils to burn off some pent up energy, as well as having a chance for some final time together before the busy exam period. A great day was had by all.
The form tutors, teachers, and I would like to wish all pupils the best of luck in their upcoming exams and look forward to celebrating with them in due course.
Their hard work and perseverance have been truly inspiring!

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
