CCF Cadets Make History at Renowned Nijmegen Marches

We are proud to announce that members of our CCF recently achieved remarkable success at the Nijmegen Four-Day Marches in the Netherlands.

To prepare for this renowned event, senior cadets (Years 11 to 13) completed a challenging 40-km walk. In a historic milestone, nine cadets and two staff members became the first school CCF unit to cover 160 km in four days. For their outstanding efforts, they were awarded individual medals and a team medallion, and the Colonel of the British Military Contingent presented them with the ‘Best Army Cadet Unit’ award. Many congratulations!

These achievements highlight the dedication and spirit of our CCF, and we look forward to their continued success.

The Pause

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
