This recognition celebrates our distinctive approach to trips, which are carefully designed to enrich every stage of a student’s journey at St James. From local excursions to ambitious international expeditions, each experience is planned with purpose—encouraging self-discovery, resilience and reflection while strengthening the bonds of community.
Highlights of our programme include residential experiences during Activities Week, cultural and historical immersions in Europe, and challenging adventures such as our Alps Expedition and participation in the Nijmegen Marches. Whether students are climbing 4,000-metre peaks, walking 120km along the Camino de Santiago, or engaging with classical philosophy in Athens, they are constantly invited to step beyond the familiar and to grow in courage, curiosity and character.
Our trips are not just about travel; they are moments of transformation. Time and again, parents and staff remark on the visible impact these journeys have on our pupils—deepening their understanding of themselves, their peers, and the wider world. This award nomination is a testament to the vision, commitment and care invested by our staff, as well as to the enthusiasm and determination of our students.
We are proud that our programme has been recognised nationally and look forward to the awards ceremony later this year.
