St James Senior Boys’ School Achieves Gold Safeguarding Award

We are delighted to share that St James Senior Boys’ School has been awarded Gold Anchored Schools Safeguarding Award, following a recent review by Anchored Schools, a nationally recognised organisation known for its expertise in safeguarding excellence.

This award is an incredible achievement, with only around 5% of schools nationwide receiving any level of Anchored Award, and just a handful earning Gold each year. The recognition reflects over five years of dedicated work by our school’s leadership and safeguarding team to strengthen policies, practices and culture across the community.

The review highlighted our strong and collaborative safeguarding model, which brings together staff from across the school, including our Designated Safeguarding Lead, PSHE Lead, Matron, Attendance Lead, Head of SENDCO and the Mental Health and Pastoral Lead. We were especially pleased that our First Aid provision was praised for providing exceptional care and support for all our students.

Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mrs Lorraine Soares, commented:

“We are truly honoured by this recognition and deeply grateful to all staff, pupils and families for their continued support in making St James a safe, caring, and thriving environment for every member of our community.”

Achieving this Gold Award is something we are immensely proud of. It recognises the commitment of our staff to ensuring that every boy at St James learns and grows in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
