We are delighted to celebrate another successful year of GCSE results, with students achieving strong grades across a broad range of subjects.

This year, 47% of all grades were awarded at 7–9, equivalent to A–A*, up from 34% in 2025. Meanwhile, 91% of grades were awarded at 5–9, equivalent to C–A*, compared with 76% last year.

A number of students achieved particularly impressive results, with Karamveer B and Ayush O each achieving nine grade 9s and one grade 8, while Ryan F, Rohit K, Zakariya A, Owen B and Joshua M all secured a majority of grades at 8 or 9.

There were strong results across both core and optional subjects. Design & Technology was a particular highlight, with 74.29% of grades awarded at 7–9, followed by French at 62.5% and Physics at 52.7%. Mathematics also saw strong results, with 50.79% of grades awarded at 7–9.

We are proud of their efforts and delighted that so many of them achieved their target grades, with many of them doing even better than expected. Many of this year’s students will now continue into the Sixth Form at St James, where they will begin the next stage of their education and prepare for life beyond school. For those leaving St James, we wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve.”

While today is an opportunity to celebrate some excellent academic achievements, it is also a chance to recognise the hard work, determination and progress of every student. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved. Well done Year 11!
