Fees and Bursaries

We offer a balanced education where creativity, academic success and spiritual well-being walk hand-in-hand.

At St James Senior Boys’ school our mission is to provide a deeper learning experience, creating an environment where each pupil can thrive and reach his full potential. We believe in a brighter future for every boy, one where he can be his best self.

St James is committed to broadening access to the school by offering eligible parents or guardians bursaries to help with school fees. Bursaries are awarded on a means-tested basis and can cover up to 100% of fees, depending on need.

Lunches (vegetarian) are provided free within the basic fee.

Fees for the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:

£8,090 per term

Fees are payable in full by the first day of each term. All fees are to be paid by direct debit unless otherwise arranged with the Bursar.

Registration: There is an initial registration fee of £150 which is non-refundable.

Acceptance Deposit: There is an acceptance deposit of half a term’s fee (whole term’s fee for non-UK residents). This deposit is then credited back as a bank transfer

Please see St James Schools’ cancellation notice and form here.

For monthly payment, the school has an arrangement with School Fees Plan. More information is available here.

All current parents, and parents who have completed their registration for admission are entitled to apply for a bursary. St James uses an external company to provide an independent review of individual circumstances. This review will include a home visit.

Bursaries are awarded to both existing and new pupils, provided financial need can be demonstrated.

Application should be made to the Bursar for awards in respect of the next academic year. Pupils applying via a pre-test are not able to apply for bursary funding. Applications from new pupils will only be accepted from those who are registered for admission in the same academic year. It should be understood that documentation, with full declaration of financial circumstances, together with original verification papers, will need to be submitted with the application.

To begin the application process, new parents should tick the ‘bursary request’ box on the registration form. Parents with students currently at St James should apply directly to the Busary Secretary. The contact email is
