Well Being Award Nomination
I was delighted last week to be informed that we had been shortlisted for the Times Educational Supplement Award for ‘Well Being’. Even to be shortlisted is a real ‘feather in our caps’.
The winner of this significant category will be announced on the evening of the 7th February at a Formal Dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
It was English teacher, Adam D’Souza who showed initiative by gathering the evidence together and submitting our entry. This drew upon the outstanding work Mrs Brazier, Mrs Soares and Mr Johnson have done to develop our bespoke Personal Mastery Programme that encompasses Self-Knowledge, Philosophy and PSHE. Mr Bridge has also brought his passion to PSHE and the general mental health of pupils and Mrs Wood (and her excellent team) has enhanced the welfare of pupils with SEN needs. The resilience, teamwork and adaptability is carried through all subjects but those holistic endeavours of the Cadets, Climbing Club, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the Physical Education Department also play their part.
I must also praise the dedicated teachers who go that extra mile to serve the needs of the pupils in their care.
