St James Senior Girls’ School staff had a wonderful morning celebrating with Year 11 pupils as they received their GCSE results. This remarkable cohort of young women, whose secondary education began during Covid, have showed great determination and resilience throughout their studies, developing key skills that will take them to success at A Level and beyond.
With over half of results graded 7-9, our pupils have demonstrated their interest and ability across a wide range of subjects. We are proud to be able to offer such a diverse GCSE curriculum, allowing our pupils to find their passions, including Classical Greek, Drama, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Latin, Music, PE, Sanskrit, and Further Maths alongside a core offering of Art, English, Modern Foreign Languages and Humanities.
Millie who is thrilled with her outstanding results had some advice for those beginning their GCSE journeys, “If I was in year 10 now, I would tell myself I shouldn’t be that scared. I think this is a very nurturing school, and I honestly couldn’t have got my results without the help of my teachers. Every time I wanted to speak to my teacher one-on-one, they were always free.”
“To find that all my hard work finally paid off was like the best feeling ever. I’m super happy with my results,” said Miriam, who is aiming to pursue interests in law, journalism or marine biology in the future. Miriam’s mother shared her daughter’s joy at her fantastic results and praised the St James ethos, “I think the positivity of the staff and the calmness of the school really helped.”
Headteacher, Emma Bell, commenting on the results, said,
“Our wonderful pupils and the magnificent team of teaching and support staff around them worked in unity to ensure that everyone was able to go into their exams feeling as confident and prepared as possible. This preparation has meant a happy results day and excellent foundations for the future. I very much look forward to continuing to support the girls’ learning journeys as they move into our Sixth Form and wish those leaving us all the very best for the future.“
