Exciting visit from Ficino, our Sister School from New Zealand!
We were delighted to welcome pupils and staff from Ficino School, our Sister School in New Zealand, for a special visit that celebrated friendship, learning, and shared values across continents.
Our Year 7 pupils had the unique opportunity to spend the day with their international peers, building connections and creating memories together. The morning began with an imaginative drama workshop led by Mr Herriman, where the pupils explored creative storytelling through their own versions of The Three Little Pigs. With plenty of laughter and energy, the pupils brought their characters to life and perfected their freeze frames!
The afternoon continued with engaging lessons of Geography and Spanish. In these lessons, pupils from both schools worked in mixed groups, taking part in hands-on activities that encouraged collaboration and communication. It was a fantastic chance for everyone to experience different perspectives and enjoy learning in a vibrant, inclusive environment.
The day was filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. It was truly inspiring to see the ease with which the pupils connected, despite the distance between their homes. Visits like these not only strengthen the bond between our schools but also offer meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange and global friendship.
We are incredibly grateful to our friends at Ficino School for making the journey and sharing this special day with us. As part of the wider St James family, it was a pleasure to spend time together, and we look forward to many more moments of collaboration in the future.
