Year 13 students at St James Senior Girls’ School are celebrating some outstanding A-level results.

This year’s leavers have achieved places at leading Russell Group universities, studying a range of courses, including Materials Science and Engineering, Hispanic Studies and Geography. All of our leavers have excelled across all areas of school life: co-curricular clubs and leadership roles have enabled our girls to grow, connect and flourish as part of a St James education. We caught up with a few of the girls celebrating success: 

May H. said, “I am heading to University College London and will be studying History. I am really pleased. It’s my dream, literally. I joined St James in year 9, coming from Latymer Upper school and these past two years have been my best school years ever.  I am really so happy. My biggest take away from my time at St James is that everybody refers to the small community environment, that family feel. Personally, it’s been the best environment for me to thrive in.”

Maya M. Head Girl (2022-2023) who is heading to Warwick University to study Engineering said, “I have felt so supported here at St James over the course of my seven years, it has been wonderful. Each of my form tutors have been so supportive, always really understood me and I felt that did not stop through my A Levels so thank you to Mrs Saunders Head of Sixth Form and all the teachers for that unwavering support. From my time at St James a value that has really taken root in me is to always choose to be kind, it doesn’t cost anything to be kind, kindness is always best.” 

Eliza G said, “I am heading to Warwick University next year; however, first I am heading off to volunteer in Eastern Ukraine. During my time at St James as the Senior Community Action Prefect I learnt the importance of volunteering and fundraising. It’s an exciting opportunity and a further chance to make a difference to others. My biggest take away from my time at St James is to have perspective in school and that grades aren’t everything. They’re one aspect of school life but it’s also important to make friends, be part of the whole school community and serve those around us.”
