In Year 10, pupils embark on the GCSE in Computer Science or the BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology depending upon the interests of the cohort. Both of these pathways allow the girls to develop the capacity to decompose and solve problems, and develops their capacity to be creative, independent and critical thinkers.

  • Computer Science pupils learn to work independently to develop simple computer programmes using Python and gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts around computer science. On this course the girls are assessed by two externally assessed exams.
  • The BTEC course teaches the girls how to manage the development of spreadsheet solutions using Project Management strategies and techniques. The girls are assessed by one externally assessed exam and a number of internally-assessed practical tasks.
