It is extremely hot in France this Activity Week so it is good timing that yesterday a visit had been scheduled to cool underground First World War tunnels.  The visit by Year 8 to the fascinating underground Wellington Quarry Museum offered them an opportunity to learn the about the thousands of men of the British Army and Dominion Forces who lived under the city during the Great War of 1914-1918. These tunnels connect with original tunnels and quarries dating back to the middle ages and Roman times underneath the city of Arras.
