On Thursday 6th December, Author Hattie Edmonds delivered a fascinating talk to Years 9 and 10 on her new book 'The Spectacular Vision of Oskar Dunkelblick'. Her talk, entitled 'When we change the way we see things, the things we see will change', and book were inspired by Physicists Max Planck and Einstein and Neuroscientist David Egleman. Hattie talked about perception and compassion as well as her own perseverance and resilience with respect to getting her books published. Mindfulness teacher, Marie-Louise Morris, also attended the talk and took pupils through exercises to challenge their perceptions, beliefs and expectations about themselves, and to change the way we see the world.
