On Saturday 12th May the U13 netball squad travelled to York for the National Netball Championships.

In the preliminary rounds, the team won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 1. As a result, we finished second in the group, qualifying for the semi finals of the cup. Unfortunately,  we lost the semi final (to the eventual winners) and so went into the 3rd/4th play-off match against Clare's Court School. In this game we started very slowly, losing 1-4

going into half time. However, in the second half, the team really raised the level of their game to how they have played all season. We came back to level the game 6-6 but, unfortunately, the opposition scored in the very last second of the game (Commonwealth Games style) which meant that St James finished 4th.

To finish 4th at the national competition was a fantastic result and all the girls should feel very proud of themselves. Even more encouraging for us is the fact that all teams at this competition were beatable and so we look forward to the challenge next season.
