How long have you been at St James?

I have worked at St James for three fantastic years now. The support of the parents, staff and children has meant that this time has flown by!

What do you love about your job?

I love how engaged, curious and passionate the children are. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach Maths to a group of children who will relish every chance given to them and participate with such enthusiasm.

Favourite subject at school:

Horrifyingly, my favourite subject was not Maths! I adored reading and languages in school. I developed an interest in Maths as I began to explore the pedagogy of Maths during my teacher training.

What is your favourite movie?

Although this is very much the wrong time of year for it, I really love The Muppet Christmas Carol! However, I would say my favourite movie has to be Up, even if it always makes me cry (in a happy way!).

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I absolutely love running, especially trail running and have taken part in several races recently. I am attempting to run home from school more frequently in the summer months. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and exploring new areas of London.

Do you have any hidden talents or fun facts?

I have become slightly obsessed with cryptic crosswords. However, I am unsure if my success rate with them could yet constitute a ‘talent’!

What animal do you identify with?

I was finding this question particularly challenging, so I asked some of my Year 6 pupils for some help. They suggested that I am like a parrot because I am very talkative and loud or like a dolphin because I’m very inquisitive!

Wise words:

“One’s life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others, by means of love, friendship, indignation, compassion.” – Simone De Beauvoir
