They walked to Hammersmith to avoid any pollution from coach travel. After a cold 15-minute walk, they arrived at Rymans on King Street, found out where the recycling station was from a shop assistant and excitedly emptied their bags of dried-out old pens. Unfortunately, they found out that the glue sticks they had collected could not be recycled but came up with an idea to up-cycle them into plant pots for the eco garden when they got back to school. What a fun and rewarding trip!
At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
