We won! ISA National Netball Championships

SQUAD
Claudia, Kaitlyn, Lara, Mady, Naima, Nanapari, Poppy, Salila and Shivaani

Group Stages

WON

5 St James v Thornton 2
5 St James v Broomfield House 3
6 St James v Weston Green 2

DREW

5 St James v Heywood 5

LOST

1 St James v Bowden 15
2 St James v Littlegarth 7

St James won Bronze medals at the ISA Regional Championships and were put into a group (all randomly selected) with three teams who had come first in their regional groups: Weston Green, Bowden and Littlegarth.

Unfortunately, Bowden and Littlegarth were too strong for us, but we still managed to beat Weston Green convincingly!

This then meant we came 3rd in the group and qualified for the bowl! It went Cup, Plate, Bowl, Shield, Trophy, Vase then medal playoffs. We knew that in order to come home with something shiny and worthwhile we had to survive two more matches. It was time to dig deep and finish their netball season on a high!

Semi-Finals

WON

3 St James v Crossfields 2

A goal on the claxon to secure the win…

Final

WON

3 St James v Rosemead 1

National Bowl Champions!

What a fantastic ending to Year 6 A team’s prep school netballing career. From Year 3 to 6, they have only lost 10 matches! A massive congratulations to the team for all their hard work and ongoing positivity towards one another.

Player of the tournament went to Claudia for her outstanding shooting, especially in crucial moments when teams got a 2-goal run on us!

The Pause

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
