Fees and Bursaries

St James offers pupils an inspirational and fun introduction to school life, through a balanced education where creativity, academic success and spiritual well-being walk hand-in-hand.

We are committed to broadening access to the school by offering eligible parents or guardians bursaries to help with school fees. Bursaries are awarded on a means-tested basis and can cover up to 100% of fees, depending on need.

Fees

Lunches (vegetarian) are provided free within the basic fee.

Nursery

Nursery fees for 2024-25 are as follows:

  • Morning £3,435 per term
  • Full Day £5,585 per term
  • Afternoon (per session) £445 per term

We offer the government’s universal 15 hours of free childcare, which provides funding for a nursery education place for up to 15 hours per week to all 3 and 4-year-olds.

In April, that funding will also be offered to eligible working parents of 2-year-olds.

More information here.

*Minimum number of sessions is 5 mornings

Bursaries

All current parents, and parents who have completed their registration for admission are entitled to apply for a bursary. St James uses an external company to provide us with an independent review of individual circumstances. This review will include a home visit.

Parents who wish to apply for help with fees must confirm to the school no later than the last Friday in the November prior to the academic year of entry.

If you would like further information about the process, please email the Bursary Secretary on bursary-applications@stjamesschools.co.uk

The Pause

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
