Wellbeing Week Round Up

As Wellbeing Week comes to an end, we would like to thank our wonderful pupils for their open-heartedness and enthusiasm towards learning about emotional and physical wellbeing. Thank you as well to all parents and staff who took part in our many activities over the week. Here is a roundup of what children got up to.

Pyjama Day

Well-being week started with a bang with Pyjama Day. Pupils and teachers alike walked around the school in their softest and most comfy pyjamas for a day of relaxation.

Spa Day

The Spa Day which followed over at the Nursery was a resounding success! As part of this all-inclusive treatment, our young customers were treated to welcome drinks upon entry, a calm corner where they could lay down with cucumber slices and blankets, followed by a warm and fragrant foot bath, and pampering in our hair and nail salon.

Therapet

“Therapet” sessions offer pupils and staff a chance to de-stress during a busy time by getting to know friendly and fluffy faces. On Wednesday, a lovely dog named Spotty visited some classes to say hello (and get some cuddles). Pupils discovered that Spotty was a very friendly companion who possessed a deep love for sticks and could play with them for hours on end.

The Pause

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
