Harmony Day

We were delighted to invite Year 7 from St James Senior Girls to Ashford on Tuesday to participate in our annual Year 7 Harmony Day. The event allowed both schools to share a Harmony experience at Ashford and enjoy the benefits that our wonderful thirty-two acre site offers from an environmental perspective.

Year 7 pupils were split into three groups and participated in a range of Harmony based learning activities. These include, a nature trail quiz and scavenger hunt, working with collected materials to make floral creations to take home,  and the ever enjoyable tree planting. This year, we planted over 200 British native saplings on the bank of the school’s North field.

I would like to thank all of the participating staff who helped make the day such a success, as well as our ever-talented groundsmen Nick and Mark who prepared the soil for us to heel in the sapling hedge row.

Apologies for the mud bath that was unavoidable owing to the wet weather, but the day wasn’t dampened too much and the pupils from both schools had a wonderful time. It was the perfect opportunity to build relationships.
