Fees and Bursaries

We offer a balanced education where creativity, academic success and spiritual well-being walk hand-in-hand.

At St James Senior Boys’ school our mission is to provide a deeper learning experience, creating an environment where each pupil can thrive and reach his full potential. We believe in a brighter future for every boy, one where he can be his best self.

St James is committed to broadening access to the school by offering eligible parents or guardians bursaries to help with school fees. Bursaries are awarded on a means-tested basis and can cover up to 100% of fees, depending on need.

Schedule of Fees

Lunches (vegetarian) are provided free within the basic fee.

Fees for the 2025/2026 academic year are as follows:

£9,060.00 (including VAT)

Fees are payable in full by the first day of each term. All fees are to be paid by direct debit unless otherwise arranged with the Bursar.

Registration: There is an initial registration fee of £150 which is non-refundable.

Acceptance Deposit: There is a standard acceptance deposit of  £2,000 (whole term’s fee for non-UK residents).

For monthly payment, the school has an arrangement with School Fees Plan. More information is available here.

Bursaries

All current parents, and parents who have completed their registration for admission are entitled to apply for a bursary. St James uses an external company to provide an independent review of individual circumstances. This review will include a home visit (or teams call if not able to facilitate a home visit).

Parents who wish to apply for help with fees must confirm to the school no later than the last Friday in the October prior to the academic year of entry.

Please note pupils applying via a pre-test are not able to apply for bursary funding.

If you would like further information about the process, please email the Bursary Secretary on bursary-applications@stjamesschools.co.uk.
