Our school is set in 32 acres of sprawling grounds in Ashford, Surrey.
St James Ashford is easily accessible from across Surrey, South West London, Berkshire and the surrounding areas. The school is well connected by rail, public bus and our dedicated private school bus network.
Many of our pupils travel independently using public transport. Around 44% commute by train and a further 9% travel by public bus, demonstrating how convenient and well connected the school is. Ashford railway station is just a two-minute walk from the school, with regular services from London Waterloo, Reading and Windsor & Eton Riverside. For most pupils, journey times range from just 10 to 50 minutes.
Beyond practicality, what stands out most is our pupils’ enthusiasm for developing independence and resilience. Many enjoy their journeys, often highlighting the time spent with friends, making the school day an enriching experience from start to finish.
For families who prefer a dedicated school service, we operate a network of private school buses, providing safe and reliable transport from a number of surrounding areas. From September 2026, we’re expanding our school bus network with a brand-new A30 route, connecting families in Egham, Englefield Green, Virginia Water, Sunningdale and Ascot. Current private bus routes include: Kensington & Isleworth, Barnes & Richmond, Walton, Kingston, Ealing, and Old Windsor & Iver.
