Oliver! A Show stopping Success for the Senior Boys’ School!

Our production of Oliver was an absolute hit! The Senior Boy’s school performed their hearts out over three evenings bringing Charles Dickens’ beloved tale to life with energy, enthusiasm, and remarkable talent. The final night’s performance was outstanding! I could not be prouder of all of the boys involved. The singing was beautiful, the dancing was fun and the acting was outstanding. The upper school pupils really showed how perseverance and positive attitude goes a long way. They were absolutely captivating in their roles and such role models for the younger cast.

A special mention must be made of our talented young actor, Ben, who made his debut as Oliver, capturing the essence of the character and touching our hearts with his beautiful songs. Likewise, Arturo’s portrayal of Dodger was simply captivating, filling our hearts with joy and leaving smiles as wide as can be. So many pupils to mention but I hope the entire cast and crew were able to make the most amazing memories and had the most fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of directing the performance but my favourite part of directing any performance is allowing the students to have a creative voice. The students involved were able to direct scenes, choreograph dances and even suggest lighting and set ideas. Thank you dance captains for your efforts!

I love it when pupils immerse themselves within a production and I couldn’t have been happier with the end result. Thank you to everyone involved, especially those students and staff that helped create and build the set for the production. Not an easy task and something I will be forever grateful for. It was a magical week and so worthwhile!

Well done to the cast, crew and fantastic musicians! It really was spectacular and a fantastic way to end the term. Here’s to another successful year!
