Message from the Head

The final few days of term have been full of festive fun. We started last Friday with our annual Christmas Jumper event that raises some much-needed money for charity. This week we have followed up with our delicious Christmas dinner, a House Day that included a Christmas Song Competition, activities and the annual House Rugby competition. Finally, we had our Carol Service this morning. Led by Father Rob, it is always an event that signals that Christmas is near.

Whatever one’s faith, it is lovely to have the light of Christmas when there is so much darkness in the world at the moment. For a Christian like myself, it is a reminder that the son of God was born on earth as the most defenseless and innocent creature, a baby. The final stanza of John Betjeman’s poem expresses this divine mystery beautifully, with the words, ‘’God was man in Palestine and lives today in Bread and Wine.’

Finally, I would like to thank you for your support this term and I hope you all have a wonderful festive break.
