Meet our Head

Emma Bell

“Based in Kensington Olympia, our inclusive school community welcomes girls aged 11 – 18 from a wide variety of backgrounds and schools, including our own co-educational Prep school.

Our unique approach is rooted in kindness and a belief in the limitless possibility of the human spirit, facilitated by expert teaching and compassionate pastoral care.

In an ‘always-on’ world, our pupils are never afraid to stop and think, drawing on ancient wisdom to bring fresh perspectives and creative solutions to personal and global challenges.

St James girls learn to speak the truth, live generously and aim for the best, resulting in excellent academic outcomes and laying firm foundations for lifelong success.

To find out where our open-minded, open-hearted approach can take your daughter, come and visit us. I look forward to meeting you.”

Where next?

The Pause

At St James, we feel it is important to introduce our pupils to stillness and allow them to discover how to be inwardly free and deeply at ease within themselves. A short period of 5-10 minutes at the beginning and middle of every day is allocated to quietude in which pupils may meditate, contemplate or simply be still – according to their own spiritual inclinations.
