Admissions
Girls are admitted to St James Senior Girls’ School at 11 and 16 years of age. Places in other year groups may occasionally become available. All applicants are required to sit entrance tests, attend an interview and provide past school reports. Meeting the students themselves is the best way to learn about and get a feel for the school so please do book onto one of our Open Events.
The 11+ process is an exciting time but can also make students feel anxious. At St James we aim to make it as smooth as possible, and students from our on-site Prep school can choose to move seamlessly through to the Senior Girls’ School at Year 7. Around half our Year 7 pupils comprise girls from our Prep school and many parents have told us that this arrangement has given them peace of mind.
We admit a further 25 – 30 pupils into Year 7 and our average year group size is 48.
We are part of the London 11+ Consortium which operates one exam across a number of London senior schools.
Our schools are a Sponsor for UK Visa and Immigration, and are licensed to support CAS for Child Student Visas.
